Milton-Freewater is a small community in a region offering a rural lifestyle with close access to larger cities and the amenities they offer. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Mountains, outdoor recreational sports are one of the area’s biggest attractions, including hiking, skiing, snowmobiling and camping. As well as the mountains being only minutes away, the Walla Walla, Columbia and Snake rivers are also in close proximity for a variety of water sports.

Many service clubs and organizations along with the Milton-Freewater Area Chamber of Commerce sponsor and host a variety of community events each year. In the month of December, the Chamber will kick off the holiday season and bring Santa Claus to the Community Building. Ronald McDonald will also be on hand to help entertain as area children sit on Santa’s lap and make their holiday wishes known. The Bright Lights Parade sponsored by a local club and two area businesses follows this event. The Christmas Cotillion, Frazier Farmstead’s Victorian Christmas Open House, a Christmas Chorale Concert and an old-fashioned community Sing-A-Long are just a few of the things going on during this festive season.
