Our prime agriculture-producing region lends itself to the production of value-added agricultural products. To help entrepreneurs interested in developing value-added agricultural products, the Community Council in conjunction with the Oregon State University Umatilla County Extension Service developed a Value-Added Agriculture website of resources. Included in the website under "Resources" is an electronic copy of Joe Locati's Horticultural Heritage of Walla Walla County, 1818-1977, which gives a historical perspective as to which crops have been successful in the past and some of the economics involved.
